We're here to help.  We understand that on occasion families and individuals fall on hard times.  Please be assured that we operate in strict confidence and that no personal information will be given to anyone outside the members of the Food Bank Family.

      Individuals and families coming to the Food Bank for the first time are given a supply of canned and frozen food to last approximately five to seven days. They are also informed that in order to receive more food, they need to be certified.  A list of documents is given to the individual requesting to be added to our client base and are told he or she needs to return to the Food Bank on Tuesday morning between 9:00 and 11:00 to present their credentials to the Certification Committee.  A review of all applications is held on the last Friday of the month, at which time a decision is made relative to their being added to the roster of eligible clients.  Based on the decision of the Certification Committee, an individual or family may be certified for three or six months, one year or for an indefinite period.

      Once a family is on the rolls, the head of household may come to the Food Bank once per month to receive a supply of food.  Amounts given range from 40 to 55 pounds based on family size.
